We, the undersigned registered voters of the Township of Lawrence, in Mercer County, New Jersey, hereby propose an Ordinance entitled the “Large Retail Living Wage and Benefits Ordinance,” applying to large retailers with gross revenues totaling $1 billion or more annually and operating any store in Lawrence of 100,000 indoor square feet or more, requiring the large retailer to pay its employees at the store a living wage rate of not less than $11.08 per hour and a benefits rate of not less than $3.50 per hour, with subsequent annual cost-of-living adjustments for both rates, providing for enforcement by the Township and in court, and consisting of six (6) pages, which is annexed hereto and made a part hereof, under the power of initiative granted to voters of the Township of Lawrence by N.J.S.A. 40:69A-184 et seq.
